Tau Camp

TAU CAMP is situated in a beautiful open woodland, where Giraffe, Eland, Zebra, Nyala and Impala are commonly found. The camp is spread over an area of about four hectares, with the camp sites and the facilities connected by little paths winding through the woodland.

There are three individual campsites Hornbill, Francolin and Drongo, They are 150 to 200 meters apart so are very private. Each site has a fireplace (firewood is supplied) and a tap,  there is also plug point with power for campers to plug an extension if required. All three sites share the bathrooms and kitchenette. Each campsite can accommodate either one couple or several families from the same party.

The spacious family ablution block consisting of a shower, hand basin and toilet, and a seperate toilet, is built from natural materials. This building has a thatched roof and incorporates existing rocks as part of the shower floor. Netting windows offer lovely views onto the surrounding bush.

There is a  plug point in this bathroom for hair dryers or charging cell phones. Gas geysers at both showers and the kitchen ensure an endless supply of instant hot water.

An outside shower built under the spreading branches of wild Syringa trees, offers a totally different experience. Showering under the warmth of the African sun, or at night with the twinkling stars and a huge silver moon.

The outside toilet is discreetly situated in a thicket of Lekkerbreek, both of these facilities are constructed around existing trees.

The kitchenette has two washing sinks, an info area and a table and chairs for those wishing to swop traveling experiences.

The whole campsite blends beautifully into the surrounding bush, as there are no fences the animals are constantly in and around the campsite, creating the perfect camping experience.
