Summer

November to March

The Summer months are from November to March, the average daytime temperatures are between 28 and 32 degrees, but it is a dry heat and cools down pleasantly in the evenings. The Waterberg is an area of Summer rainfall with a average of 700ml each season, this generally is in the form of spectacular afternoon thunder showers.

Autumn

April to May

Autumn is from April to May, and temperatures are starting to drop, although it can still be warm during the day. The average daytime temperatures 22 to 28 degrees. The bush starts to subtly change, with the grasses starting to turn brown, and green leaves turning to gold.

Winter

June to August

June to August are the colder winter months, although the daytime temperatures are warm, shorts and T shirts can usually be worn later in the day. The evenings and early mornings can be very cold and one should be prepared for this. The bush is very dry at this time of year, but the soft morning and evening light on the golden bush is utterly spectacular.

Spring

September to October

Spring is September to October, the days start to warm up, the mornings are wonderfully crisp, and there is a very small chance of some early showers. There is a tinge of green through out the bush veld, and with the promise of summer just around the corner, the Matamba baby boom begins.
